High school athlete volunteers assist and support the coaches at the Soccer Stars Academy Summer Camps. At each summer camp, there will be a Camp Director (Coach Jamie) as well as several lead coaches that will be responsible for small groups. Our high school-aged volunteers work as support coaches under each lead coach to assist them in a variety of ways. Here is a breakdown of what would be expected of you in this role as well as how we plan on helping you to become a better coach:
- You must be on time for camps every day.
- You must be capable of instructing soccer technique in an approachable manner for younger children. You will not be left to do this alone, lead coaches will give the majority of technique instructions and will help you instruct.
- You must be capable of taking information from lead coaches and applying it to both small and big groups. Lead coaches will be giving you instructions through camp.
- You must be mobile. Our campers are always on the move, so you are expected to keep up and engage with them throughout each day of camp.
- Most importantly, we would help you develop a VOICE. The most important part of our summer camps is for kids to enjoy learning the game of soccer, but you must have a voice in making sure this stays true for all campers.
Our aim is to help you develop abilities to lead our younger generation of players to give them clear, helpful, and motivating information. If you are interested in becoming a Soccer Stars Academy Volunteer this coming summer, please reach out to us!
